The Global Fund advocates for countries to leverage their national structures whenever feasible, and to integrate Country Coordinating Mechanisms or their functions into existing health platforms.

This integration serves as a route to fostering sustainable health governance, with the goal of progressively aligning Country Coordinating Mechanism core principles with national institutions.

The pathway to integration consists of three stages, which may adapt according to the country’s unique circumstances: knowledge acquisition, coordination, and the establishment of a lasting structure.
